SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

To be eligible for a scholarship to be applied toward attendance at a 2012 CAFÉ event, submit a one or two-page essay or article of 500-1000 words describing how you and/or your program meets the criteria as set forth in the scholarship descriptions. You must submit a cover sheet with your name, school, school address, phone numbers, and email address(es). You must clearly state which scholarship you are applying for.

Deadline for submissions is April 1, 2012. Notices will be sent to award winners no later than May 1. You may send your application to CAFÉ Scholarships, 959 Melvin Road, Annapolis, MD 21403 or to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   If you send your application in electronically, be sure to identify which scholarship you are applying for in the subject line. You will be responsible for your own travel and housing arrangements.

Scholarship Topics:

  • CAFÉ Scholarships
    • Three awarded to postsecondary instructors and three awarded to secondary instructors
    • Award is complimentary registration for a 2012 CAFÉ event
    • Topic: Describe innovative and/or proven successful assessments of student learning in hands-on labs in your program
  • Johnson & Wales University Scholarships
    • Four awards (for secondary instructors only)
    • Award is complimentary registration for any 2012 CAFÉ event
    • Topic: Describe how you actively engage students’ interest in the hospitality industry.  Include information about on-the-job training experiences and graduate outcomes (if available)
  • Idaho Potato Commission Scholarships
    • Four awards for either secondary or postsecondary instructors
    • Award is complimentary registration to a 2012 CAFÉ event plus up to $300 reimbursed travel expenses to the event
    • Topic: Describe how you have used technology to enhance your curriculum
